Yuto Takei - Water Index
Tokyo based Yuto Takei's is capability of painting afterglow soundscapes with a cinematic approach is counterpoised by an almost obsessive interest in percussive experiments. The sparse presence of subtle natural field recordings together with vast open sonic spaces is recurrently sustained by repetitive semi-artificial and frantic cosmic repetitions.
This dualism seems to be at the very core of Water Index, where the liquid element functions as a common thread from end to end of this record.

Gropina - Microcosmo
After his debut "Mare Aperto", Amsterdam-based Gropina returns to the light with a four tracks 12” EP out on Paesaggi Records.
Side B and the riso-printed insert depict the head of the bifid siren from the Romanesque church of S.Pietro in Gropina. In Christian symbology, the fish-tailed siren represents the seductive power of the senses and illusion, which distracts man from the spiritual realm by attracting him to ephemeral pleasures. Like every human-animal hybrid creature, the siren is the duality of intellect-primordial instincts and the conflict between the double nature of men.

Native Cruise - Desert Theory
Inspired by warm climates, shaped in a rainy city. Native Cruise’s Desert Theory opener Late Nights is a relaxed jam filled with crispy drum-machine percussion and new age-ish pads with delicate nature sounds in the background.
The energy rises towards the title track, a marching rhythm characterized by chugging wooden drums and floaty pan flutes.
Bermuda Clouds brings you on a shore presenting a dreamy 4 to the floor session with a FM bass line, atmospheric pads and a wave of ocean sounds.
The journey ends with Whispers which reminds of an imaginary 80s digital world vaguely influenced by the aesthetic of labels like Innovative Communication or Les Folies Art.
